It was not that long ago That I was on my knees Didn't have the air to speak No hope left in my dreams What lies buried here? Why do I forget? I saw the ghost of me That's when I heard You say - "Have you forgotten the times when you felt so alone? Don't you remember how I stayed by your side? Have you forgotten the single set of footprints? Don't you remember, loving Me at all?" I can't feel that far away It's just too dark to see I can't find the Light, my guide No love left inside me I know what's in my past I've seen what others can't But I won't live this way Because I heard You say - "Have you forgotten the times when you'd forsaken me? Don't you remember how I stayed by your side? Have you forgotten the Love that kept you from despair? Don't you remember, loving Me at all?" I wish I could stay like this Like I am in the middle of the darkest night Because when I'm alone is when I see the Light Why do I feel like I don't belong? Why do I act like I'm above when I feel like I'm beneath? Why do I feel like I can't talk to you? Why am I buried; is this my grave? I won't stand for this; something needs to change This is my life, my one chance And I won't let this world take it me Show me the way, God And bring me to the fire Because it's cold out here without your desire "Have you forgotten the times when you'd forsaken me? Don't you remember how I stayed by your side? Have you forgotten the Love that kept you from despair? Don't you remember, loving Me at all? Have you forgotten the times when you felt so alone? Don't you remember how I stayed by your side? Have you forgotten the single set of footprints? Don't you remember, loving Me at all?" (I will remember, remember You... I will remember) (I will remember, remember You... I will... remember...)

As I sat and read these letters It seems they're addressed to me As old as they really are A timeless message stands There's something here for us A lesson need be learned From the lives of those before us And in between the lines So you're a Christian Tell the Savior All the places you've been and the things that you've done I hope it stands up to the judgement above So you're a Christian Don't you wonder If your self-righteous life scares the sinners away? I hope you realize all the souls you've condemned But the thing I really wonder As I sing this simple song Am I falling down to your level When I admit I think I can? But the thing we need to wonder When we look in the mirror Do we like what we see? Is that a devil looking back at me? So you're a Christian Tell the Savior All the places you've been and the things that you've done I hope it stands up to the judgement above So you're a Christian Don't you wonder If your self-righteous life scares the sinners away? I hope you realize all the souls you've condemned This is not the way God wants us to live I'm not perfect so I won't throw this stone So you're a Christian Tell the Savior All the places you've been and the things that you've done I hope it stands up to the judgement above So you're a Christian Don't you wonder If your self-righteous life scares the sinners away? I hope you realize all the souls you've condemned

(In the face of the onset) (In the face of the onset, we move on, we move on) I can't see anything from here The future's gray, it's just not clear These are the things that we said But this is not what we wanted And one thing I know I'll never leave Your side 'cause that is where I see How everything that we wanted Is backed up against the wall now We're holding onto something more Than they could ever sell us for This is the stand that we make In the face of the onset And these ropes and chains may keep us down But my friend, rise up now off the ground 'Cause that's not what they wanna see And this is not who you wanna be Something more than before (You hate it) Shouldn't be the enemy (Lock and load) This is who we really are (Come on now) In spite of you and what you do We can't believe in what you say 'Cause you claim you never stray away From the truth, but we all know You'll pull a card from your sleeve and Never make us whole or see us through So we won't do anything for you You've been enough of a leech now For us to sharpen our wooden stakes And though sticks and stones may break our bones There's not one here who stands alone So listen closely now, as we say - Stay away... You call us dogs; that's alright, We are nothing but bite, And this is what we say - We'll make our way Something more than before (You hate it) Shouldn't be the enemy (Lock and load) This is who we really are (Come on now) In spite of you and what you do

That's just another sunset that you will never see That's all I can think as I sit here without you Your time has come, but I don't believe it Was the right time, or the right place You left us, we're crying Can't believe it's true You left us, we're dying God, please help us through Oh, God, please help us through This is a life I'll leave; head for a better place I just wonder now, can I leave in peace? With all the things I've done and others I have not Can we see eye to eye when I don't have to hide? That's one less sunset that I get to see When my time comes, will I be ready? I'll leave you there crying Can't believe it's true Now my time is coming Soon, I'll be there too One day, I'll be there too I'll leave you there crying Can't believe it's true Now my time is coming Soon I'll be there too On the wings of the wise

Just years from now we'll be breaking outta here We're gunna leave this all behind You'll see then that we're more than you thought we were More than a number to stand in line Heaven can help you if you thought we'd stand for this But here's a chance to see you're wrong More than anything I think we're living this In spite of the lies you tried to spread If you thought that, you could break me I promise you that you will lose the war You never could be, simply honest A nihilist, no control, you can't be tamed Now you hunger, to devour But your tongue can't cut through this armor You may offer temptation But I know just what I am here for Four years from now we'll be looking up from here Raising our hands to the skies We'll show them that we're more than skin and bones There's something here you can't explain All these broken homes And just the soul remains But there you'll find a will to fight Say your prayers because now we have found A life to live that's worth dying for If you thought that, you could break me I promise you that you will lose the war You never could be, simply honest A nihilist, no control, you can't be tamed Now you hunger, to devour But your tongue can't cut through this armor You may offer temptation But I know just what I am here for (This is Bravo to base, come in base) (Base, come in, do you read?) (We're gunna need backup) Let's put those fists up Let's fight Draw the line and Go, go Let's put those fists up Hoorah And let them know we ain't goin' down tonight Let's put those fists up Let's fight Draw the line and Go, go Let's put those fists up Hoorah And let them know, Let them know, Let them know we ain't goin' down tonight If you thought that, you could break me I promise you that you will lose the war You never could be, simply honest A nihilist, no control, you can't be tamed Now you hunger, to devour But your tongue can't cut through this armor You may offer temptation But I know just what I am here for (You can't break me) (I am here for God)

about

Letters From Paul is the first release from the Southern Californian Christian artist Jordan Bridgman. The EP proudly blares out pounding bass and gritty guitars like any other metal album, but Bridgman spices it up here and there with synth swirls, digital delay, wah, organs, and sometimes even electronic sound effects. The track listing sweeps a broad range - but a common theme of challenging or inspiring the listener to be more finds it's way into nearly (if not) every track. Any metal fan should find this an album worth looking into.
