Turn to Dust 03:26
Cause I’m still looking for the answers And I’m calling out for you to Show me how to live I want to live a life worth living To leave a reason for you to Miss me when I’m gone I won’t stop for a break this time I won’t keep going out of my mind Step up own my own mistakes Stand tall no matter what the stakes Every moment hides Tries to run away from me And I know we can’t stop How we turn to dust But if you’re with me Then we’ll show them how to be We can’t stop to rust Before we turn to dust You know I’m chasing my own ghost and I’m praying that I find some Part of me I’ve lost It’s time to trace back all my roots and Dig up a reason for me to Be the man I should be Return to dust
2.
You want to fake me? Come on and take me I know you’ll try to But I can see through Every damn lie Burned in your eyes You’ve created What we hated All that we know We’ve been told so Try to reach out Try to break doubt Eyes glued to the Screen in front of ya Try to break out As we all shout Change course or burn I try to call you, call you out Make you face the truth There's no other way You can't face yourself Try to recall what you said 'Cause you don't believe in me Your flaws laid out for us You can't face yourself Pull the wool down Over the crown Flying blind we Think that we’re free? I have to say that This will fall flat We’re bound for nowhere Lost in midair The fog is thick I Think that we’ll try To wait another day End another way But if you don’t turn We will all burn You’re the pilot Call it, tyrant It’s hard to the find truth When you’ve buried us It’s hard to see the past Through another’s eyes I find it hard to trust My own memories I think by now the truth Is buried underneath
3.
GO! What a sight to wake up to Severed heads and a burning flags In the name of justice You killed my brothers I cannot see an end from here Fanatics don’t seem to reason well You washed away all sense and will It’s like you want this I understand, you don’t even try Hypocrites always rationalize You threaten us with genocide It’s like you want this I wanna hate you Just like I know you hate me But what’s the point when Your heart is black with deceit And you’ve been blinded By all the lies that you eat Don’t even know you can’t see me I wanna hate you But it’s just bringing me down Try not to blame you For all the evil you’ve wrought That’s hard to do when There’s so much blood on your hands Don’t even know that won’t wash out What a sight to wake up to Broken bodies, burning flesh With the blood of others You line your pockets I want to see the violence stop Fanatics don’t seem to know too far But when they see through all the scars That we don’t want this The money won’t be flowing in You’ll have to sell that golden watch And we will end this war you’ve wrought Cause we don’t want this Take back your heart No hate, no hate Take back your soul No hate, no hate
4.
Void of space surrounds me Leaves my heart uneasy Floating through abstraction Losing my attraction To dreams, to dreams, to my disease Someday soon you’ll see what’s left When all we trust is stripped away Nothing here but piercing light We’re born again within the flames Capture dreams without me I’ll get lost completely On the eve of waking Reality is creeping To me, to me, into my dreams
5.
Right out the front of her car She hit the pavement too hard But even sirens that scream Can’t help but shatter the dream She’s slipping out, she’s slipping out Of her body Her empty eyes don’t hold a soul She’s not breathing He rushes right to her side To check all her vital signs But even he skips a beat When he sees what’s on the street We simplify every situation So we can stand for what we believe in But when the choice is greater evils Will you still stand by the same morals? Right now in front of his eyes He sees a terrible lie Her family wants to believe But he can't stand to deceive He’s letting go, he’s letting go Of his morals He'll make this choice a pragmatic It's traumatic He's trying not to play God But all his choices are flawed He takes a deep breath and screams He's letting go of the dream
6.
Atrophy 03:56
I wanna know why everyone in this world Can't seem to hold on, listen to their own words I wanna show you everything that you knew That you've forgotten Can't understand why we just fall apart When we're in situations we know only too well Preach to the choir even though we're deaf and Can't hear ourselves Youth tries not to dwell on death Come to terms with our own end Act like none of this will change Close our eyes; can't happen here I’ve lived my life with a shoulder to cry on I've always had somewhere to turn My mom and dad did their best to raise me I never even felt unheard But when we lost you it made me realize A day will come when I walk alone And in the wake of everything that you were I felt the weight of what I had to lose I haunts me how you ran away To embrace mortality We try not to lose our minds Soldier through our daily grind Know that none of this will change ’Til the day we leave the world I try to live with both eyes open No matter what I come to see I wanna feel the air fill my lungs Even when it hurts to breathe ‘Cuz I’m alive, that’s gotta count for something And I don’t know how long I’ll stay I’ll take what time I have to be and Count it, even in misery I can’t believe you ran away Rushed off to infinity Show me your scars
7.
Brought to the edge of my grip again Can't stay, so I'm letting go of this Taking a leap of faith to get through To you Standing over the ledge I see So far that I could fall if I Can't trust you with my heart So I do trust you And I won’t try to bring you home If you’re not who I can call my own Your heart is all that I can see It means everything to me Try hard to open up your heart If you don’t, you’re tearing us apart Trust me and I can bring you home So you’re not out there all alone Watching you walk away from this I can't; can't turn my back on you I know I'll find away to get through To you One day when you've had enough of it I'll be waiting to hit the switch Taking the chance that I can hear you "I do"
8.
The setting sun still lights the scars, of a life that's come so far As he wonders what he's sown, the seeds he's planted grow How can you define this man? Can you price his very life? As you add up every word, can you tally every breath? Do you know (do you know) Your bottom line? Can you get out of the red in time? If I am the sum of all I've done to my brothers I guess I'm the sum of what I've done for my sisters The red in my ledger is tearing me apart I kept trying to run but the number just stayed the same If I am the sum of all I've done to my brothers I guess I'm the sum of what I've done for my sisters The ticking reminds me that I have to die someday The pressure is building, 'cause I haven't paid my way And now he's asking God above, in life just what he's done So don't you forget this truth - one day, that will be you And if you wind up caught off guard, well you're the one who played these cards So face your end with guilt, for what you could have built
9.
So it wont' feel like falling Like falling They say that this life is like a free fall The more you fight it, the faster you drop I'll close my eyes and feel the rushing wind So it won't feel like falling So you get messed up from staring straight down I'll be right here now, I'm bathed in sunlight I'll spread my arms to slow the rushing wind 'Til it starts to feel like flying More than bark, feel the bite But know you'll be alright Not without, but within That's how you lift your chin Before he ran he would crawl And even then he would fall Never stopped 'cause he failed He's coming off the rails What's a life without risk? An unrequited tryst? When it's all said and done He never tried to run Until he stopped, open hands And turned to greet the sands 'Cause he knew in the end It's an eternal trend From the dark to the light She's picking up the fight To reclaim what she's lost To love at any cost She's filling up empty souls She's stoking every coal She's breaking out of the red Remember what she said What's a life lived alone? A narcissistic throne? She never lives for herself She's always bottom shelf 'Cause she feels to the bone That all her time's on loan If this life's just a test She's bringing out the best Scream it loud 'til give out We're gunna make the best of this fall Open your hearts, are you listening? Spread your arms like you've got wings 'Til it starts to feel like flying

I'm looking back tonight On all the memories, the things we did The things we said we never would forget And now it's time to turn the page again But don't forget It's you Nothing they say Will ever take away What you mean to me In the heart of The storm You are my home The arms that hold me I'm waiting here tonight For all the promises, the things you said I swear that I will will be here through the night Until my time to leave is here So don't forget It's you

about

Nearly 6 years after Heart of the Storm, Memento Mori comes roaring in as the second full-length album and fifth overall release from Jordan Bridgman. It's the first released under the pseudonym Terrapart.

Much of Memento Mori continues the artistic direction Bridgman developed over his previous releases, but with just the right amount of growth to keep things interesting. The heavier side of the album is brutally fast-paced, with tracks like 'Sympathy for the Devil' or 'Death on the Scene' venturing down some of the darkest lyrical realms thus far. Meanwhile, the experimental sounds and lyrical foci from tracks like 'Hypnopompia' and 'The Precipice' keep things feeling fresh like a cold water rinse, and staple tracks with solid melodic hooks like 'Turn to Dust' act as the glue that holds it all together.
